Pedestrian Struck & Killed In Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A pedestrian at the intersection of Northwest 7^th avenue and 20^th Street, was struck by a car and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The victim, described as an adult male, was struck by a driver, who remained on scene, around 7 p.m.

The pedestrian was transported, according to City of Miami Fire Rescue, to Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The uninjured driver of the car, according to authorities, failed a roadside sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Miami Police Department Traffic Homicide shut down 20^th street to 19^th street on 7^th avenue temporarily to investigate.
