Pompano Man Accused Of Road Rage Involving Federal Agent

BOCA RATON (CBSMiami) – Detectives are investigating a road rage case that led to a dispute between a Pompano man and homeland security agent Saturday.

Boca Raton Police Services Department officials said that the incident happened around 1:30 p.m when an off duty Department of Homeland Security agent was driving down Glades Road in Boca Raton. The agent's wife and three kids were also in the car, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

As he traveled east on the road, he said he was all of a sudden cut off by a red car. The driver of the car then made a turn into a Boca Raton mall and went into the Nordstrom's parking lot where he was said to have stopped in front of the store to pick up another passenger.

The off duty agent followed the red car, parked in front of it and got out of his car; his wife followed behind him.

When the agent approached the car, the man allegedly sped off and hit the off duty agent and his wife. That is when the agent shot at the car and hit the back bumper, according to detectives.

The driver of the red car then went back to his Pompano home and called his wife, who called 911. Not too long afterwards, the driver of the red car went back to the scene to speak to detectives.

The Sun-Sentinel contributed to this report.
