MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – A violent fight over scooping dirty cat litter landed a central Florida man behind bars on an assault charge.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said on August 17th, Avelino Urbano Garon, 59, of Palm Coast got into an argument with his wife that lasted throughout the day. The wife told deputies that as things grew more heated he threatened to throw their cat against the wall.

He then picked up a knife and threatened to kill his wife, according to his arrest report.

Garon told deputies that it was his wife’s responsibility to clean the litter box. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and later released on $1,000 bond.
