MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Hyundai Hope on Wheels will donate $75,000 to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital to help fund research to find a cure for childhood cancer.

The check will be officially presented during Hope on Wheels' signature handprint ceremony on Wednesday, August 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood.

Dr. Deborah Kramer will receive the $75,000 grant for her work on the creation of a treatment history for childhood cancer survivors, so that they transition out of pediatric care and into adult care.

Hollywood-area children affected by cancer will dip their hands into colorful paint and leave their handprints on a white Hyundai Santa Fe Sport to commemorate their brave battles with cancer.

Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital has received $655,000 from Hope On Wheels since 2007.

In 2013, Hope On Wheels will donate 40 Hyundai Scholar Grants totaling $3 million to institutions across the country.

By the end of the year, Hope On Wheels will have awarded more than $72 million towards childhood cancer research in pursuit of a cure.
