BOYNTON BEACH (AP) – A Boynton Beach man remains in critical condition after he was shot by a Palm Beach Sheriff’s SWAT team member during a lengthy standoff.
Sheriff’s deputies to the man’s home after receiving a call that a weapon had been fired inside the home and that he was suicidal. Six nearby homes were evacuated as deputies and SWAT members surrounded the man’s residence.READ MORE: Judge gives initial OK to $1B deal in Surfside condo collapse

Deputies and SWAT team members negotiated with the unidentified man for several hours. He came outside the house several times and, at one point, authorities said he shot a vehicle parked in his driveway, but then retreated.
