DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins continued to try to bolster their pass rushing depth Thursday by signing for Carolina Panthers defensive end Antwan Applewhite.

Applewhite went through an injury-plagued 2012 season with the Panthers, but has appeared in 48 games over his career.

The former Panther also spent time with the San Diego Chargers from 2007-2010 and has 6.5 career sacks since he was first signed as an undrafted free agent.
