Dolphins Sign WR Julius Pruitt & Keenan Davis

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins needed some wide receiver depth after Armon Binns suffered an injury in training camp. Wednesday, the team filled that need by signing Keenan Davis and Julius Pruitt.

The Dolphins made room on the roster for Pruitt and Davis by waiving/injured Binns and fellow receiver Jasper Collins. Pruitt was with the Dolphins in 2011, but was cut early in training camp last season. When Pruitt was with the Fins, he was primarily a special teams player.

Davis is a rookie out of the University of Iowa. The former Hawkeye is a bigger target, standing 6'2" tall, but ran only a 4.63 40-yards dash during his pro day earlier this year.

Binns was making a name for himself during training camp before going down with a knee injury. The Dolphins are also watching Brian Hartline who suffered an injury before Monday night's scrimmage and Mike Wallace who was held out of the same scrimmage for unknown reasons.
