Second Man Charged In Killing Of Raccoon

BROWARD (CBSMiami) – A Coral Springs man ended up behind bars after he allegedly recorded a video of another man attacking and killing a raccoon and posted it on social media.

On July 23, Vincenzo Carlisi, 26, and his co-worker, Joseph Amico, 26, were at a Coconut Creek warehouse when they noticed a raccoon standing on top of a garbage bin outside.

Carlsi reportedly encouraged Amico to kill the raccoon with a two-by-four, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

He then pulled out his cell phone and recorded Amico allegedly hitting the animal in the head.  He then posted it on Facebook, according to the police.

Carlsi can be heard on the video saying "Blast him, blast him" and "You catch him, I'll cook him," according to the paper.

Police said that Carlsi did nothing to prevent or stop the abuse and the animal suffered throughout its slow and painful death.

Someone on Facebook who saw the video reported it to wildlife rescuers.

Carlsi surrendered to authorities on Tuesday. Both Calsi and Amico have been charged with animal cruelty.
