Gas Prices Up A Dime In Last Month

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - After months of holding relatively steady, gas prices have edged up about a dime in the last month.

In Florida, the average price for a gallon of unleaded is $3.62, up from $3.52 a month ago, according to the American Automobile Association. Dieselalso increased over the last month to $3.90 a gallon.

In Miami-Dade and Ft. Lauderdale, drivers are paying more than the state average. Regular unleaded is running $3.69 a gallon in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. A month ago, drivers were paying $3.60 a gallon in Ft. Lauderdale and $3.59 in Miami. A year ago, regular unleaded was averaging $3.48 a gallon.

The Tampa area, where unleaded regular is averaging $3.51 a gallon, is the cheapest places in the state to fill up.

West Palm Beach is the most expensive place to top off the tank; regular unleaded is averaging $3.73 a gallon.
