Wipers And Umbrellas Needed Monday

MIAMI (CBS Miami) – Get ready for more wet weather.  Thunderstorms and heavy downpours are likely at times again, Monday.

While the rain chances are not as high as they were over the weekend, South Florida could see thunderstorms at any time during the day.

Due to heavy rain over the weekend in some areas, localized flooding is possible.

Winds will be out of the east between 5 and 10 miles per hour. On the water, winds will be east to northeast at  around 10 knots.

Some of the thunderstorms and showers that develop may be pushed inland by the afternoon, Monday.

High temperatures will be between 86 and 90 degrees with plenty of clouds around most of the day.

Some peaks of sunshine are possible.

Tuesday, high temperatures will once again top out between 86 and 90 degrees.  Thunderstorms are possible beginning in the morning and again in the afternoon, mostly inland.

As winds pick up Tuesday, the risk of rip currents at area beaches will increase.

Waterspouts are possible and boaters will need to use caution.

South Florida will remain rather unsettled for much of the week with the best chances of thunderstorms and downpours being during the afternoon hours Wednesday through Friday.

Friday could be a very wet day, but the weather should improve some for the weekend.

As of Monday, the tropics are quiet with no tropical systems expected to form in the next 24 hours.
