WWE Calling Sunshine State Home Ring

ORLANDO (CBS4/AP) — Wrestling superstars will get their start right here in the Sunshine State.

World Wrestling Entertainment has opened a state-of-the-art training facility in central Florida.

Gov. Rick Scott and WWE executive Paul "Triple H" Levesque appeared in Orlando Thursday for the opening of the Global Performance Center. The two men first announced the project in April.

The facility will serve as the new home to WWE's talent developmental system. It will house seven training rings, a gym and production facilities.

The new center — which represents a $2.3 million capital investment — should create nearly 100 jobs.

Levesque says building the facility in central Florida represents the future of WWE, providing the next generation of superstars with a world-class facility to call their own.
