Second Lawsuit Filed Against Daycare Worker Accused Of Molesting Children

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A second lawsuit has been filed against a daycare music teacher accused of molestation.

Thirty-eight-year-old Olakunle Omomowo of Lauderhill was arrested in early June and charged with four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on victims less than twelve years old.

He remains in jail.

Omomowo is a teacher at the Discovery Preschool, at 5601 Regency Lakes Boulevard in Coconut Creek.

The second lawsuit Jane Doe No. 36 v. Discovery Preschool was filed in Broward County.

Attorney Jeff Herman said he plans to file additional lawsuits.

In a press release by Herman, the victim, named as "Jane Doe No. 36" in the suit, claimed Omomowo tickled her genital area under her underwear in May, 2013.

The suit also alleges Omomowo sexually abused at least eight children at Discovery, girls and boys.

However, police have not said where Omomowo reportedly molested the victim/victims and/or if they attended the school.

Discovery Preschool in Coconut Creek issued the following statement about the arrest to CBS4 twice, the first time was in June, the second was in July after the second suit was filed:

"Discovery Preschool is committed to providing high quality child care and learning opportunities in a safe, nurturing environment, and our most important responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of the children in our care. We are taking this situation very seriously, and we immediately notified the appropriate authorities as well as the families we serve as soon as the concerns were brought to our attention. We are supporting everyone involved to ensure a thorough investigation into this situation and will continue to support the children and families that we serve in every way we can."
