Miami Market Owner Shoots At Would-Be Robbers

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The owner of a Miami neighborhood market took the law into his own hands to stop a couple of would-be robbers.

When two armed men walked into the New Way Supermarket near NW 33rd Street and NW 22nd Avenue and reportedly tried to the store, the owner fought back.

The clerk, who did not wish to be identified in the report, explained what happened next.

"Basically, what just happened, two armed guys just came in, walked in the store, tried to rob us, they attempted to but they didn't really do much," she said. "One put a gun in my face, one put a gun in my boss' face but my boss got his gun shot back and we're good now though."

Anyone with information on the attempted robbery is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
