Water Advisory Still In Effect For Parts Of Miami Beach, Biscayne Bay Lifted

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) - The water advisory for Biscayne Bay has been lifted, but is still in effect for the Collins Canal, Indian Creek to 51st and Surprise Lake.

On Tuesday, a wastewater line leaked along Dade Boulevard between Convention Center Drive and Meridian Avenue causing the water advisory.

While the system is working, crews continue to work in the area and conduct exploratory excavations to prep for the final repairs.

A precautionary advisory is issued to limit contact with water at Collins Canal, Indian Creek to 51st and Surprise Lake.

The city continues to work with environmental agencies to be sure the safety of the waterways.

The water will continue to be sampled by Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resource Management and the Florida Department of Health.
