Miami Police Give Back To Vietnam Vet
MIAMI (CBS4) – Several Miami police officers spent Saturday afternoon giving back to a Vietnam veteran.
Leroy Alfred's home at NW 69th Street and 8th Avenue recently collapsed. He's been forced to live in a shed on the property.
On Saturday, the officers helped remove debris and rubble left behind from the collapse. It all came about after a couple of officers met Alfred while they were out on a call and struck up a conversation with him. When they found out he was a former Marine, they knew they had to do something.
The removal of the debris was the first step in making the property safe enough to rebuild on.
