Miami Fire Rescues Kitten From Storm Drain

MIAMI (CBS4) - A kitten in Miami got a jump start of using it's nine lives Wednesday after falling into a storm drain.

A man walking near the intersection of Biscayne Blvd and NE 39 Street heard a faint meowing coming from a storm drain just after 3 p.m. and called 911.

The Miami Miami Fire Rescue Technical Rescue Team arrived on the scene and used special equipment to rescue the cat, who had fallen at least 10 feet. Paramedics were on hand to evauluate the cat, who did not appear to have any injuries.

After the rescue and unable to locate the kitten's mother, firefighters took the frightened feline to the fire station for a bath and a warm meal.

Firefighters will house the kitten until an adopter can be found.
