One Direction Causes Fan Frenzy On Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- The hugely popular British boy band "One Direction" is back at a South Beach studio shooting a new music video.  As expected, fans flocked to the area hoping for a glimpse of the boys and some got their wish.

When the band arrived at Temple House around 11:00 am, fans came running from every direction.

"I didn't believe it was them. It was kind of like a shock cuz like I've been waiting here for so long and I've never actually seen them so I was like, 'is that actually them?' and by the time I realized it was them, they were gone," said one excited fan.

These "directioners" arrived early.

"I live in Aventura, I took the Metro here at 6 o'clock this morning," said one girl. She got video of the band walking into the studio on her cell phone.

Now it's time to wait because they're hoping they'll come out and say hello.

"I'm excited and angry at the same time because I want them to come out," said the first fan.

The fan frenzy actually started Wednesday outside the Temple House at 14th and Euclid Avenue. Girls waited for hours to see the band and they got their wish around 10:00 p.m. when the members of "1D" stepped out of the studio to wave hello.

The throngs of teenage girls waited all day in the heat behind a metal fence in a parking lot across the street from the studio just for a glimpse.

As dusk turned to night, the crowd grew in size.  Miami Beach Police got on a patrol car loud speaker and urged calm.

Finally, Niall, Harry, Zayn, Leam, and Louis emerged from the studio waving and smiling.

Girls were screaming, shaking, taking photos, and posting to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as fast as they could.

"I drove all the way from Texas to be here for their concert," said one girl.  "I was happy to see them, even if it was just for a second like this."

When it was over, the boys went out a back door of the studio and drove away in a white van.

Fans, unaware, they had left the building, were told by police to 'go home'.

Even after the van drove away, fans were seen running down the alley, screaming after the fabulous five.

The band has sold out performances at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Thursday and the American Airlines Arena on Friday night.

However, a limited number of side stage view seats were released at noon for Thursday night's performance. Tickets are available for purchase at the BB&T Center box office only.
