PALM BEACH COUNTY (CBSMiami) – Coast Guard officials were contacted Saturday after a plane wreckage site was found in the Everglades.

According to Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, the site, approximately 20 miles south of State Road 80 and 20 miles west of Boynton Beach in the Everglades, is only reachable by airboat.

One person, who remains unidentified, is confirmed as deceased, according to authorities.

PBSO launched airboats to investigate the crash and find out more information. PBSO, along with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, will return to the site tomorrow to continue investigating.
