SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – The Sawgrass Mills mall will re-open Friday morning after having to temporarily shut down late Thursday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m. Thursday, the mall was one of several buildings in the area of Sunrise that lost power. Shoppers who were inside the mall were immediately evacuated from the mall.

According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, Florida Power & Light worked throughout the night to get the power up and running at the outlet mall. FPL hasn’t said what caused the power outage.

The mall is expected to re-open for business at 10 a.m. Friday.
