Dead Man's ID Used To Cash Phony Check

HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) - Police are looking for a man who used a phony ID and a check to scam a Hallandale Beach bank teller.

On May 14th, the man walked into the SunTrust Bank branch on Hallandale Beach Blvd.  He then went to bank teller and cashed a fraudulent check worth $1,688 using an ID which belonged to man who had died.

Hallandale Beach Police released two surveillance photos of the man on Wednesday in hopes that someone recognizes him and gives them a call.

The pictures show an older man with a graying mustache wearing glasses, a dark blue Toyota baseball cap, a red and a white plaid collared shirt.
