The Vixen Workout Shakes Things Up

CORAL GABLES (CBS4) - On any given night of the week you can hear bass-blowing music, see fogged mirrors and see droves of women grinding and sweating.

However, this is not a Saturday night at a Miami Beach club, it's a Thursday at Body and Soul studio in Coral Gables.

Janet Jones is the general of what she calls her 'Vixen Army.' The workout emulates the fast paced, vibrating moves of video vixens - women you would see in music videos.

"Everyone always wanted to secretly be in a music video. You want to pretend that you're Beyoncé because every girl loves Beyoncé," said Jones.

Janet's army lines up at attention every night waiting to get in and get in shape.

"My first class, the only ones that made it was my cousin and my best friend," said Jones.

Now, over a hundred women flood the dance floor for the hour long cardio session.

"I use a watch to track the calories I burn and I burn anywhere between 900 to 1,000 calories," said one vixen army member, Katherine Mojica.

"You're going to hang out with your friends, you're gonna feel good about yourself and at the end of the day you're working out," siad vixen army member, Erica Gill.

The trick to the vixen workout, you have to wear heels and the higher, the better!

"It's a room full of women and we kinda just cheer each other on and encourage each other to act a little dirty and not get judged," said Jones.

And the ladies are not holding back; by the end the dance floor is a steam room filled with vixens.

"This class really gives them the opportunity to pretend that they are that vixen, that starlet," said Jones.
