Two Boats Destroyed In Marathon Marina Fire

MARATHON (CBSMiami) – Two boats were destroyed, a third damaged in an early morning fire at a Marathon marina.

Just before 5 a.m. firefighters were sent to Pancho's Fuel Dock at Burdine's Waterfront in response to a 30 foot powerboat on fire. The flames quickly spread to a second boat as deputies attempted to evacuate the surrounding area.

By 5:30, firefighters had knocked down the fire on both vessels and by 6 a.m. the fires were extinguished.

The Fire Marshalls Office will be investigating the cause of the blaze.
