MIA Terminals Evacuated After Bomb Reference Made

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Multiple terminals at Miami International Airport were temporarily evacuated Tuesday evening due to a potential bomb threat.

According to Miami-Dade Police's Detective Roy Rutland, a little before 4:30 a man inside the terminal asked another to hold his bag and made a reference to explosives.

Miami-Dade County Police officers took the man into custody and as a precaution, Terminals H-J were evacuated until the bomb squad arrived. The MDPD Bomb Squad examined the bag and said it was a false alarm.

The terminals were then re-opened to the public after roughly an hour delay.
