Marlins' Stanton Out With Sore Left Shoulder

MIAMI (AP) — Miami right fielder Giancarlo Stanton was a late scratch from the Marlins lineup on Friday night with a sore left shoulder.

Stanton was in the Marlins' lineup posted before batting practice. He was removed about a half hour before Miami's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Stanton was batting .167 (5-for 30) with no home runs or RBI through the season's first nine games. He walked eight times and struck out 12.

Austin Kearns replaced Stanton in right for Friday night's game.
