Unseasonably Warm Weather Expected For Busy Weekend

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – After a relatively cool few weeks in South Florida much warmer weather is on the way starting this weekend.

A warm front is passing through South Florida Friday and it will shift winds to the south Saturday. The result will be high temperatures in the mid-80's. Then a cold front will approach from Tampa Sunday.

Ahead of the cold front winds will be breezy from the Southwest. That is called a blow torch wind for South Florida because we do not get the cooling influence of the ocean.

As a result expect a hot afternoon with highs around 87-89. The record in Miami is 90. Both Saturday and Sunday should have decent sun.

If you're heading out to Ultra Music Festival, the Sony Ericsson, or any other outdoor events this weekend make sure you stay hydrated as the temperatures will be unseasonably warm.

The next cold front will arrive Sunday night and Monday. Expect some showers and cooler temps early next week.
