Former Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti Starts New Job
BROWARD (CBSMiami) – Broward County's old sheriff has a new job.
Al Lamberti joined Sunstates Security as a senior consultant, the News Service of Florida reported Thursday.
Raleigh, N.C.-based Sunstates Security provides uniformed security personnel and security consulting services to clients throughout the Southeast, including in South Florida, as well as in the Northeast and Southwest.
"Right now, homeland security is front and center," Lamberti said in a statement.
"In serving the public sector, protecting the infrastructure—specifically, energy companies, seaports and airports—was a top priority. Now I'm transferring that experience to the private sector."
In November, Lamberti, the only countywide elected Republican at the time, lost the campaign for sheriff to two-time Democratic challenger Scott Israel.
