Man Critically Injured In Dania Beach Boat Fire
DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – One man was critically injured, a child hurt, when a fire broke out on a boat at a marina in Dania Beach.
Around 1:30 p.m., a 19-foot cabin cruiser caught fire while at the fuel dock at the Harbour Towne Marina at 801 NE 3rd Street.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said a man on the boat, who was critically injured, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. He was then airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
A child, who received minor injuries, was also taken to the hospital. There was no one else on the boat.
Broward Sheriff firefighters were able to contain the fire to the boat. Its cause is now under investigation.
