Man Dies After Produce Truck Overturns On Turnpike

MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – A man died Saturday afternoon after the truck he was driving flipped over.

While it's unclear what caused the truck to flip over, what was clear to drivers was the billowing smoke (see left).

The accident happened on a ramp to Florida's Turnpike north, between the extension and the Turnpike itself, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky.

Police said the truck was carrying fruit or vegetables. The identity of the driver is unknown.
