Warming Temps & Sunshine Expected This Weekend

MIAMI (CBS4) - Temperatures didn't quite drop as far as we expected Friday morning, bottoming out in the low-to-mid 50's around most of the area, with a few spots dropping to the upper 40's.

The cool morning gave way to a dry and sunny weather pattern Friday that will see highs climb into the mid-70's this afternoon with a pleasant breeze. Temperatures will be increasing along with the winds heading into Saturday.

By Saturday morning, the area should start off with the low 60's near the coast and some 50's inland. Then highs will warm to the upper 70's in the afternoon hours with more of an onshore flow.

As high pressure drifts more to our East, winds will shift out of the Northeast at 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph through the weekend. This will lead to a dangerous high risk of rip currents and hazardous marine conditions as well.

Don't forget, Daylight saving time will start on Sunday at 2 a.m. which means that you should set your clocks forward an hour before going to sleep Saturday night. While we lose an hour of sleep, we gain an hour of daylight in the evening hours.

Early next week the warming trend continues. Lows will be back to normal in the low 60s. Highs will soar to the low to mid 80s with a slightly better chance of showers Tuesday.
