Car Lovers Revved Up For Concours d' Elegance Auto Show

BOCA RATON (CBSMiami) – It was a big weekend for antique car lovers of South Florida.

The 7th Annual Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance was held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. The three-day event raised money for the Boys & Girls Club of Broward.

For auto magnate Rick Case, the Concours d'Elegance is one of the most important events of the year.  Last year more than 10,000 people attended.

This year, those who attended were able to wine and dine while enjoying live entertainment and a display of exotic cars and automobiles.

The event kicked off Friday night with the duPont Registry Live Hangar Party. Guests were able to look at their favorite cars while they enjoyed gourmet food and wine, made by some of South Florida's finest restaurants.

Saturday night, the folks geared up their engines for the Concours Gala auction where guests got their hands on some of the world's first luxury cars.

Emerson Fittipaldi and JM Family Enterprises also received the Annual Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gala.

Sunday morning was the main event where 200 of the finest collector cars and motorcycles from around the world were featured.

Antique cars, custom motorcycles, extravagant boats, private jets, vintage aircraft, and luxury motorcoaches, they were all out for display. "They're all out her," said Rick Case.

"Besides the antique and classic cars, we've got almost 50 new exotic cars," said Case. "We've got Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Ferraris, Lamborghinis; just any kind of luxury, high-end car you can think of."

Guests were wowed by the many cars on the show field which were judge by a panel of experts.

"It's just a fun day for everybody," said Case.
