South Florida Bundled Up For Another Chilly Night

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – As temperatures dipped below 50 degrees Sunday night, some South Floridians went out for a night of fun in Las Olas dressed in more layers than usual.

"If you go down the street there are literally people in their furs," said Miami resident Laura Blake, who described the weather as "super cold."

Blake admitted when she complained about cold weather to her friends up north, "they tell me 'you are a joke'."

New Yorker Michael Palladino thought the weather in Ft. Lauderdale was a disappointment. He and his family came down for a vacation.

"I brought the cold weather with me," said Palladino.

Miami resident Eric Reidner didn't seem to mind the colder temperature.

"It feels great, it's a nice little change of pace," said Reidner.

However, the change of pace was bad for his bicycling cab service.

Overall it seems whether or not someone viewed the weather as cold or just cool, depended on where they were from.

"I was in the water earlier and was l like 'where is everybody, it's beautiful'," said Canadian tourist Eric Kormos.

In his opinion, South Floridians are just spoiled.
