Warm Now But Temps About To Tumble

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – South Florida is in for a mixed bag of weather as we head into the big holiday weekend which includes a major drop in degrees.

Valentine's Day Thursday will be cloudy and soggy as a cold front sweeps across the area. With all of the moisture in place, the rain chance remains high through Friday. South Florida could get 1 to 2 inches of rain with isolated amounts of up to 3 inches or more in some spots.

Thursday afternoon will be warm and humid with highs in the low 80s with showers and a few storms likely. There may even be winds gusting up to 30 mph.

A few showers will be possible Saturday for the first half of the day before the big cool down due to a stronger cold front on the way.

Lows will drop drastically to the 40s and 50s Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Highs will only be in the mid 60s with plenty of sunshine.

On President's Day on Monday, South Florida will wake up to lows in the 50s and highs will rebound slightly into the low 70s.
