Man Pinned Under Truck After Crash

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A driver is lucky to be alive after he slammed into the rear of a box truck Tuesday morning.

The 51-year old driver of the car and the truck were both headed south on NW 27th Avenue when the car rear ended the truck at Flagler Street. The impact was so severe that most of the car's front section, up to its windshield, ended up wedged under the truck.

A Miami Fire Rescue Technical Rescue Team had to cut the driver of the car. They were amazed that anyone could have survived a collision of this scale.

The driver was transported to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition. The truck driver was not injured and remained on scene to speak with Miami police.
