Man Killed, Woman Injured In NW Dade Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A couple was shot right in front of their Northwest Miami-Dade home while their young children were inside the house.

The shooting happened in 4100 block of NW 22nd Court. Corey Graham, 29, was outside with his girlfriend when someone started shooting at them. Graham died and his girlfriend was injured in "an upper extremity," according to police.

Graham's family said he was a father of four sons. His youngest, a six month old boy he shares with the other shooting victim, was inside the home with the girlfriend's three other children when the shots rang out.

"They killed my baby. They killed my baby Lord, they took my baby's life," said Barbara Graham, Corey's mother. "My baby, he don't hurt people. He loves everybody. If he could give you his clothes off his back he would. That's my baby."

Graham and his girlfriend were shot when they pulled up to the front of their after attending a late night Super Bowl party. The passenger side window of the couple's car is shattered. Graham's body was found on the side yard of his house.

Graham's sister, Wanda Herring, said she has no idea who would want to kill her brother.

"He's a good boy, he's a good boy. That's all I know. He's been good to us all our life," said Herring.

This family can't believe his four sons will have to grow up without him.

"They didn't have to kill him. They could've talked to him. If he did something to them, all they had to say is 'Man don't do it no more'," said Graham.

Police have not released a description of the shooter or said what may have led up to it.
