Two Men Found Murdered In Car In Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two men were found shot to death inside a car overnight Thursday.

Police were first alerted to the scene near NW 41st Street and 13th Avenue a little after 1 a.m. Friday. Several residents called police reporting the sound of gunfire.

"I was in bed, heard gunshots, looked out the rear window and saw police cars," said neighbor Betty Way.

Once police arrived, they found a car, which hasn't been identified, riddled with bullets and two men inside shot dead. A young pitbull was also grazed on the side of the head with a bullet and later died.

"They are good people and it's sad it happened to them,' said Joe Chandler.

Miami Police said the two victims were in their early 20's and that several shots were fired. Family members were distraught over what had happened and declined comment to CBS4's Marybel Rodriguez.

"It has to stop, we have little kids running around after school playing, this can't be like this," said neighbor Betty Way. "I'm nervous, still shook up. I walk to the corner store now. I'm scared what could happen."

If you have any information that could help police, call Miami-Dade County CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
