Woman Boater Dies In Crash On MacArthur Causeway
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A woman died Saturday after the boat she was on crashed into a bridge on the MacArthur Causeway.
Miami Fire Dispatch responded to a call late Saturday afternoon near the Jungle Island ramp, located on the MacArthur Causeway.
What they saw when they arrived is unclear, but the 35-year-old woman died as a result of the boat striking the bridge, according to Jorge Pino, Public Information Officer for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The woman died on the way to Ryder Trauma Center, Pino said.
Officials said an investigation will begin soon.
