MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron led his team to its second championship in a row Monday night. But while McCarron may be just becoming a household name, after the BCS Championship Game, his girlfriend’s name and image was on everyone’s mind.

It all started when ESPN cameras cut away from the action for a moment to show McCarron’s girlfriend in the stands. McCarron’s girlfriend just happens to be Katherine Webb, a former Miss Alabama. At that point, announcer Brent Musberger, well, become enamored with Ms. Webb.

Webb’s Twitter account went from having a few hundred followers before the game to over 100,000 by the time the game was over. Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett even tweeted his phone number to Webb to hit on her, before deleting the tweet.

McCarron was told Webb passed him on Twitter and that LeBron James was now following her too.

“Maaan! I’ma tweet him and I’m gonna get a follow,” he said, as his voice raised. “That’s messed up. But I guess she’s more famous than me.”

As the game wore on, ESPN made sure to show Webb several more times throughout the game.

Webb didn’t play in the game, but by the end of the night, she was arguably the biggest star coming out of the night.
