Sean Smith Escapes Serious Injury

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins got some good news on the injury front Monday when cornerback Sean Smith was diagnosed with just a knee bruise.

Smith had an MRI test Monday on his knee and the test came back negative with any major injury to Smith. The former Utah Ute has emerged as the Dolphins' best shutdown corner this season and made the decision to get rid of Vontae Davis easier.

Smith is a fourth-year pro and is due to hit free agency after this season. Based on his play this year, the Dolphins will likely want to keep Smith on the roster heading into next season.

The Fins play the New England Patriots in the regular season finale on Sunday starting at 4:25 p.m. The game can be seen exclusively on CBS4.
