Man In Court For Alleged Flare Gun Attack On Girlfriend
DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) – A man accused of firing a flare gun at his girlfriend's neck, subsequently setting the apartment on fire, will appear in bond court Thursday.
According to neighbors, the couple was arguing around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday inside their apartment in the 200 block of Southwest 11th Street, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
Dina Dawson, 42, lives a few apartments down from the suspect, whom she identified as Stephen Thunberg.
Thunberg is currently behind bars, charged with committing a felony that could cause death and first-degree arson.
Shortly after returning home, Dawson was folding laundry when she heard a scream.
"I looked out the window and I see her running through the parking lot and see him following and then I noticed from the waist up she didn't have any clothes on," Dawson said. "I look closer and I see him holding something in his hand with his shirt over it. Then I see her bleeding everywhere," Dawson told the Sun-Sentinel.
