You're Not Crazy; The Tree Is
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Between the shopping, the decorating, and the holiday dinners and parties it's easy to get your life turned upside down over the holidays. Now, JCPenney has found a way to make it official by turning old Tanenbaum topsy-turvy.
That's right. The retailer is selling a Christmas tree which doesn't sit on the floor - it looks like it hangs from the ceiling. Upside down. Sort of like a giant mistletoe.
The chain is selling the trees nationwide and online, and they can be seen at South Florida locations where it is being marketed for just under $200.
So why would a retailer decide to sell an upside-down tree? One might ask why not, but the real reason is buzz. JCPenney is trying to re-invent itself, and what better way than to turn the traditional into the talked-about.
The good news is the tree is pre-lit. Imagine trying to string the boughs starting at the ceiling.
