Man Suspected In Deadly Apartment Shooting Arrested
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A man who reportedly shot and killed two people at a Northwest Miami-Dade apartment complex has been taken into custody.
Devon Williams, 26, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. He's being held without bond. The shootings happened the night of April 13th when Williams allegedly went to the Lincoln Field Apartments at NW 65th Street and NW 21st Avenue.
Armed with an assault rifle, Williams reportedly confronted a man standing a group of people and then fired several shots.
Fearing for their lives, the group took off in different directions. Williams caught up with the person he had been arguing with in the apartment complex's playground, the man had collapsed on the ground.
Police said Williams walked up to him and shot him several times. A second person, who was shot in the back, made it 2051 NW 64th Street where he lost consciousness.
He was taken to Ryder Trauma where he was pronounced dead.
