Ft. Lauderdale Police Find Massive Child Porn Collection

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A South Florida man who reportedly had one of the largest individual collections of child pornography that Ft. Lauderdale investigators have ever seen is behind bars.

Thomas Dray, 23, was arrested Tuesday and charged with 30 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of using a computer to collect and compile child pornography. He's being held on $31,000 bail.

The investigation into Dray began when police came across an Internet Protocol address which was sharing child pornography. They traced the address to a residence in the 3000 block of SW 16th Street in Ft. Lauderdale.

Dray consented to a preliminary search of his computers, according to his arrest reports. When investigators reportedly found several files containing child pornography, they seized the computers. During questioning Dray reportedly admitted to downloading and viewing the images, according to police.

A further investigation into the contents of the computers uncovered nearly 1,000 videos of children being sexually abused by adults. Many of the children depicted in the videos appeared to be as young as 7 years old.

The child pornography images and videos will be forwarded to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to attempt to identify these young victims.

Anyone who may have had contact with Dray is urged to contact Detective Rob Mauro at (954) 888-1570 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
