Worker Injured In Pompano Beach High Rise Construction

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Firefighters used a bucket on the end of a tower truck to bring an injured construction worker to the ground.

The worker was on the eighth floor of the Four Points by Sheraton Pompano Beach, at 1208 N Ocean Drive, when he suffered some sort of leg injury. City spokeswoman Sandra King said she believes something possibly fell on the worker's leg.  The injury however wasn't serious.

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue didn't not want the man to cause further injury to his leg by walking down the stairs, so they decided to go up and get him.

After being lowered to the ground, the man was taken to an area hospital by ambulance.
