North Miami Pawn Shop Robbery Suspect Arrested

NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) – North Miami and Miami-Dade police officers with their police dog partners made quick work out of a search for a person who reportedly tried to rob a pawn shop.

Just before 1 p.m., police say 20-year-old Jeffrey D. Moore walked into the American Pawn Shop at 130th Street and NW 7th Avenue in North Miami with a gun and tried to rob the place.

The entire thing was caught on tape. Surveillance video shows Moore wrestling with the shop's manager, who would only identify himself as Joel. The only customer inside the shop at the time, who would only identify himself as Randy, is seen jumping in moments later to help.

Joel and Randy say that Moore tried loading his gun in the store while they were fighting. They also say they all eventually ended up outside the shop when Moore pointed the gun at Joel, who was also armed and fired first.

Police say Moore eventually ran away, but was later caught hiding in a shed by K-9 officers. Moore is expected to face multiple charges, including armed robbery.
