Osteen To Bring Night Of Hope To Miami

MIAMI (CBS4) - A well-known religious couple who, through the power of television have amassed an audience of millions, will be filling a South Florida stadium early next year.

Marlins Park will be the site for a major event that will be put on by Joel and Victoria Osteen. Joel Osteen is the pastor of the largest church in the country, Lakewood Church in Houston. Every week, his sermon reaches an estimated ten million viewers worldwide.

"We love Miami and we have such great friends here and support here and we love the diversity here and so we thought this would be a great place to come and bring American's Night of Hope," Osteen told CBS4 News Anchor Shannon Hori.

He hopes his message will lift people's spirit and leave a positive impact.

"I think a lot of times it can jump start your faith because I find a lot of people are just enduring life they are in the motion of life. They are going to work maybe had a couple of setbacks and so sometimes you need people to tell you hey let go of the past move forward there are good things ahead, sort of like rebooting your computer getting rid of all the viruses that are slowing you down," said Osteen.

The entire Osteen family is part of America's Night of Hope. Their 17-year-old son is in the band and their 13-year-old daughter sings. Victoria Osteen also gives a message of relationships and respect.

"I love the people and its interesting because there is so many types of people so much diversities and they are all coming to be encouraged to be filled with hope," said Victoria.

America's Night of Hope will be on Saturday, April 20. Tickets are 15 dollars.
