S. Fla. Shoe Fashionistas Flock To See Giuseppe Zanotti

BAL HARBOUR (CBSMiami) – One of the world's most sought after shoe designers was recently in South Florida, much to the delight of South Florida shoe fashionistas.

Celebrities like Rhianna to Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj to Mila Kunis can't get enough of the shoes created by Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti who is considered a rock star in the world of shoes.

"Music and fashion. There's a combination of elements I like," Zanotti told CBS4's Lisa Petrillo. "I like to listen to music and play with shoes."

The 55-year old designer has done just that. He started out as a radio DJ, playing the hits in his native Italy but soon found he had a soul for creating women's shoes.

"I think for the girls the shoes is like an art of seduction because all the women use the shoes to feel yes sexy, more wild," he explained.

At a recent personal appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour Shops, Zanotti showed off his new collection that runs from red carpet ready to hip hop cool.

Lady Gaga was the first celeb to ask Giuseppe to create a wild wedge she wore in a video. A black studded out dangerous looking sky high bootie was also commissioned for Gaga and now it's hot seller.

"I think there is something about women that they are like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," he said. "Women have 2 souls inside, sometimes wild, sometime more classy but the same women."

So for this fashion forward designer whose love for women, art and music result in over the top collections year after year. "It's all in a day's work," a job he creatively describes.

"I think I'm like a butler for this wonderful universe of girls," he said, "Just a butler."
