Columbus Day - What's Open, What's Closed

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Monday is Columbus Day. While most of us have to go to work or school, there will be some businesses and government agencies which will not be open.

While federal offices and Miami-Dade County offices are closed, state offices and Broward County offices are open.

The Post Office is closed.

Miami-Dade courts, except bond court, are closed.  Broward's courts are open for business.

Public schools in both Miami-Dade and Broward are open.

Also open - the stock markets and most banks.

Garbage collection is on regular schedule in most cities. Also running on regular schedule are Tri-Rail and Miami-Dade and Broward's public transit.

Libraries in Broward are open while libraries in Miami-Dade are closed.
