Man Shot To Death In Tamarac Parking Lot Identified

TAMARAC (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff's Office has released the name of the man who was shot to death in the parking lot of a Tamarac apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

Just after 3 a.m., the sheriff's office received several calls about gunshots at the Sun Vista Gardens condominium and apartment complex at 5060 Rock Island Road. Arriving deputies found 26-year old Louricacks Siffra in the parking lot; his body laying in between two cars.

Officers with K9s and a helicopter searched the area but were unable to locate the shooter.

Some residents of the complex were shocked when they stepped outside and found a body covered by a tarp and armed deputies all over the place.

"It's bad, bad, real bad," said Rohan Gayle.

"It's a little scary so I called my daughter and told her make sure you lock the door properly and put the alarm on," said Jackie Hassad Wallen.

Gayle said he heard the shots, but didn't think much of them.

"I thought it was firecrackers," said Gayle.

As part of their search, deputies stopped every vehicle leaving the complex and check their trunks and driver's licenses.

The sheriff's office has not released a description of the shooter or said what may have led to it.
