Biden Visiting South Florida Friday

TAMARAC (CBSMiami) – Every presidential election eventually comes down to Florida and 2012 is looking no different. While President Barack Obama currently has a comfortable lead, he's not taking the state for granted and is sending Vice-President Joe Biden on a two-day trek through the Sunshine State.

Biden is set to kick off his tour on Friday with stops in Boca Raton and Tamarac. Saturday, the vice-president will make an appearance at a grass roots event in Fort Myers.

Biden's first event in Boca Raton will be held at noon on Friday at the Century Village Clubhouse. After that, he will travel to the Palace Theater at Kings Point in Tamarac for an event that starts at 3:20 p.m. The final event in Fort Myers will be at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Park Recreation Center on Saturday.

The vice-president is expected to talk about the economic differences between the Obama campaign and that of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. His trip to the area comes roughly a week after Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Paul Ryan campaigned in South Florida.
