Metrorail's University Station Temporarily Closing Thursday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – President Barack Obama will be in town Thursday afternoon which means rolling road closures and the shutdown of the University Metrorail station in Coral Gables.

Mr. Obama is scheduled to be at the University of Miami at approximately 2 p.m.

Due to the President's visit and police activity in the area, the University station is expected to be closed from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., and then again from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Free bus shuttle service will be provided between South Miami, University and Douglas Road stations for both northbound and southbound service while the University Station is closed.

Transit supervisors will assist passengers, directing them to the shuttle buses at the South Miami, University and Douglas Road stations.
